In a move that advances inter-university and cross-border partnerships, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW); Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS), and the Jakarta Business School (JBS).
The MoU will give higher education institutions opportunities to work on specialist areas of research and academic ventures, including faculty exchanges and student mobilisation. The MoU will support the exchange of information and academic materials, the organising of joint events, joint research activities, and publications.
A key part of the agreement is the opportunity for student exchange programmes. This would give students from each institution a more rich and more diverse educational experience, as well as an international perspective and expanded mindset. This is an important aspect of each establishment’s educational beliefs, which aim to create global leaders of the future who are able to work in diverse settings and among an international workforce – crucial in today’s post-pandemic world.
The collaboration will support the aspirations of the three institutions in becoming informative institutions, having comprehensive research, and being recognized for innovative teaching and learning, social services and educational management.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Kamila Ghazali, Vice Chancellor of IUMW; Tan Sri Prof. Dato’ Dr. Nordin bin Kardi, Vice Chancellor of USAS, and Dr. Hamdan Zoelava, Vice Chancellor of JBS.
