The Bachelor of Science in Psychology programme at IUMW uses scientific methods to study human behaviour and thought. We aim to equip our graduates with practical skills and critical thinking abilities. As a result, they become competent and employable in various industries. To make our students career-ready, we integrate research and hands-on experience to produce high-performing graduates ready for health and social science practices.

  • A pass in STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any two (2) subjects; OR
  • A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid; OR
  • A Certificate in Matriculation or Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00; OR
  • A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in any field with at least CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00; OR
  • Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)/ Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) with a minimum CGPA 2.50 out of 4.00, subject to passing the bridging course in Mathematics and Science
  • An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) in the relevant fields with at least CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00; OR
  • Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian government as equivalent to the above requirements.
  • A-LEVEL Pass with Grade D in two subjects, AND credits in Mathematics and Science, and a pass in English at SPM level or equivalent; OR
  • Australian Matriculation ATAR 65;OR
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) 24 points across six subjects;OR
  • UEC Grade B in five (5) subjects including Mathematics and Science, and a pass in English;OR
  • Other qualifications recognised as equivalent
Note:
  • *All the above qualifications need to be supported with at least credits in Mathematics and Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science and a pass in English at SPM level
  • Those without a pass/credit in Mathematics and/or Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science at SPM level or equivalent can be admitted but are required to attend special enhancement course(s). These special enhancement courses should be SPM equivalent, remedial in nature. Students must pass/credit the Mathematics and Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science enhancement courses as a prerequisite to related core courses taught in English
  • Students enrolling on a Dual Award programme will be subject to the English requirements of UWTSD/UK
English language competency requirements for international students:
  • International students are required to achieve a minimum score of 5.0 in IELTS OR Band 3 in MUET OR 500 in TOEFL OR its equivalent
  • English language requirements can be waived if the international student EITHER comes from a country that uses English as the official language OR the entry qualification uses English as the medium of instruction

Assessments are both formative and summative, with students presented with multiple opportunities throughout the programme to improve their critical thinking, problem solving, and effective communication skills, while also demonstrating their acquisition of important discipline knowledge. Assessment methods will usually include; quizzes, research reports, presentations, literature reviews, tests, exams, essays, designing experiments, research projects, a research thesis, and one internship. For MPU, core and elective modules, assessments are 60% assignment based and 40% final examination. For Research Project 1 & 2 and industrial training, assessments are 100% assignment based. Students are expected to undergo six (6) semesters and one industrial training (12 weeks), which amounts to 125 credit hours.
