Anyone can claim to be a trainer but to stand above the rest, one must be a certified training professional (CTP). Fourteen members of staff from the International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW) successfully completed the ITD World Certified Training Professional programme, and are now officially Certified Training Professionals.

A CTP is someone who has received formal training and shown that they possess the competencies expected of a training professional – they have the knowledge and skills that one has come to expect from a qualified trainer.

The CTP certification was given to a group made up of academic, management and support staff from IUMW, upon the satisfactory completion of a five-module competency-based skills development programme and submission of work-based projects.

The course, offered by the ARTDO International in collaboration with the Institute of Training and Development (ITD), aims to transform leaders using the latest methodologies and innovations. As qualified trainers, our staff will stand out as leaders and expand their knowledge and impact to other educators, staff, and students. They can now also grow their skills as a trainer and transform classrooms with the latest training and development methods and techniques.

Through the process of learning design, development and delivery, our participants received a holistic view of the training profession. Our team can now facilitate and deliver impactful training, and design and develop comprehensive and outcome-based learning programmes based on internationally benchmarked best practices. Congratulations to all fourteen members of staff on becoming Certified Training Professionals.
