IUMW Hosts Successful Blood Donation Drive with the National Blood Centre
Kuala Lumpur, 8th May 2023: The International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW) hosted a successful blood donation drive with the National Blood Centre (NBC). Over 50 staff and students volunteered to participate in the event, with over 30 donating blood to save lives.
The event, organised by the Faculty of Arts & Science, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and encourage the university community to support this life-saving cause. The NBC team was on hand to ensure that the donation process was smooth and safe for all participants.
Speaking about the event, Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Science, Assoc. Prof. Dr Nisa Omar, said, “We are proud to have hosted this blood donation drive and to have made a positive impact in the community. Our students and staff have shown their generosity and willingness to help others, and we hope that this event will inspire more people to donate blood and save lives.”
The blood collected will go towards fulfilling the critical need for blood in hospitals across the country. The event was a great success, and IUMW looks forward to hosting similar events in the future to continue making a positive impact in the community.
