The essence of patience and consistency
I was on the verge of giving up my Perdana Fellow application this year, but I did not want to be haunted by my own regret. 3 years of rejections have taught me the essence of patience and consistency.

Those three years of constant determination it has led me to where I am now, a Perdana Fellow to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), YB Senator Datuk Haji Idris Bin Haji Ahmad.

What Perdana Fellow Is All About
A little introduction of what Perdana fellow and Corporate Fellow are all about, Perdana Fellow is a prestigious internship programme as participants will be placed directly under the cabinet ministers. This programme is essentially meant to provide youth with insight into the internal structures, working environment in a government setting and the challenges faced by the government. Being selected and placed under the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), YB Senator Datuk Haji Idris Bin Haji Ahmad, allowed me to gain such insights but the Fellowship experience was beyond what I could have ever imagined.

The Corporate Fellow, on the other hand, is pretty much similar to the Perdana Fellow. Still, the Corporate Fellow will be placed under the wings of CEOs in companies like Permodalan Nasional Bhd, Malaysia Airlines Bhd, Axiata Group Bhd, AirAsia Bhd, Ernst and Young, Khazanah Nasional Bhd, CIMB, PETRONAS and other participating companies.

This year, all participants of the Perdana Fellowship Programme are required to prepare a policy paper that contains proposals for improvement at the respective ministries. The Corporate Fellowship Programme participants have to suggest improvements for their respective companies.
