Who knew a visit to a glove factory could be so enjoyable? Foundation in Science students recently visited Top Glove, the world’s largest manufacturer of gloves, headquartered in Malaysia. What started as a local business enterprise with 1 factory, has today captured 26% of the world market share for rubber gloves.

The visit, organised by the Centre of Foundation Studies, was an opportunity for students to see in practice some of the things learned throughout their Physics and Chemistry modules.

According to student feedback, the visit was “fun and interesting”, “enlightening and enjoyable”, and the staff and chemists they met with were “well educated, knowledgeable, and friendly”. Sounds like they really gloved it…
